Ana Boogiewoogie over at SL Fashion SOS Dot Com paid a visit to Ye Olde Sim(e) recently and wrote up a particularly colorful, hands-on review. Animal ears on hoods seem to make her happy, which is good considering the sim.

Glass Earth got a nod in Warren Ellis’ ‘Field Notes‘
From his somewhat odd article I have gathered this:
He seems to have misread “Canimal” as “Cannibal” and taken the ‘eat me’ store name just a little too literally! It also seems like he was griefed by someone who was breaking the rules by pulling out a weapon and using it. Combine these things with a couple wound items for sale, Pulaski’s wood chipper gag, and the general grungy feel of the place and I suppose I can see how he might find himself confused, especially considering that he is not coming from the comfort of our fantastic little subculture.
Maybe it’s hard to understand Glass Earth as a hangout spot/live music venue/mall. Most people don’t put a lot of energy into creating beautiful builds for common themes in Second Life, but I would argue that if the common things are beautiful (or beautifully ugly as in the case of Glass Earth) then Second Life would be a much better place.
In my imagination a place of business can be beautiful, interesting, personal, and cultured. A live music venue can double as a chill spot and a place of business. Capitalist pursuit does not have to mean ugly sprawling kitsch or impersonal austerity, though it too often does. I would like to be the exception if that is the rule.
In spite of his impression of Glass Earth as some kind of bloodbath combat sim with a mall, he did really appreciate the build! I’ve got to say, at least he’s got good taste!

Opticon Nykvist adds his particular brand of highly-detailed, anime-ish, high-fantasy cutlery to the Glass Earth family. On July 28th, he’ll be releasing a chunk of 10-15 more weapons with heavy custom effects! He also needs me to let everyone know that his Custom Weapons Contest is at an end. Check him out over at the Glass Earth collective. Drop on by Glass Earth to see his pointy bits!

Grace McDunnough hails from Atlanta, GA and plays an eclectic and sultry mix of acoustic folk, soul, alternative and blues.
